Vocational and Career Technical Facilities

The School Facilities Planning Division (SFPD) has changed the New Construction - SFPD 4.07 (DOC; Revised Jul-2010) and Modernization - SFPD 4.08 (DOC; Revised Ju1-2010) application forms to include a new certification regarding a district's consulting with its career technical education advisory committee for vocational and career technical education (CTE) facilities at large comprehensive high schools (SAB Regulation 1859.2 defines a "large" project as a request for 200 or more new construction grants or a modernization project that is for at least half of the CBEDs (California Basic Educational Data System) enrollment at the site).

Education Code 17070.95 was enacted in 2002 and requires districts to certify to the State Allocation Board their consultation with their career technical education advisory committee. The changes to the SFPD 4.07 and 4.08 provide districts with an early opportunity to ensure their compliance.
