The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued the attached guidance on the required five-day meal count reconciliation that is directed to sponsors of child care centers, adult care centers, outside-school-hours centers, afterschool snack programs, and emergency shelters.
The guidance has six questions and answers, with Question No. 2 providing the basics for conducting a meal count reconciliation. Sponsors must perform the meal count reconciliation during the site monitoring visits to their sponsored facilities.
