This Management Bulletin (MB) provides the annual reimbursement rates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2012–13. Included are both the federal rates established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the CACFP, and the State Meal reimbursement rates for child care agencies operated by a public school food authority (SFA) outlined in the 2012–13 California State Budget. These reimbursement rates are effective July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.
As mentioned previously in the ListServ dated June 29, 2012, “Clarification of Elimination of State Meal Reimbursement,” the appropriation for the State Meal supplemental reimbursement for sponsors not eligible to receive Proposition 98 funding was eliminated from the state budget for SFY 2012–13. This state funding was available to reimburse free and reduced-price meals served by private schools, private child care centers, other private entities, and government entities that are not public SFAs. These agencies will continue to receive federal funding for meal reimbursement, which has increased for SFY 2012–13.
These new federal and state reimbursement rates are also available on the California Department of Education, Nutrition Services Division’s Rates, Eligibility Scales, and Funding Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/nu/rs/.
