Team Nutrition

Information about the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) program that provides nutrition education materials for children and families and training for food service professionals.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) established the Team Nutrition (TN) initiative. TN supports national efforts to promote lifelong healthy food choices and physical activity by improving the nutrition practices of the Child Nutrition Programs. TN provides free nutrition education resources to schools, child care settings, and summer meal sites that participate in these programs. California became the first TN state partner on August 31, 1995.

TN provides:

  • Free quality nutrition education materials for children and families
  • Training and technical assistance for food service professionals
