Mandatory Training Is Required For All Summer Food Service Program Sponsors
All sponsors are required to complete the mandatory Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) training online: The Cal Pro Net training for the SFSP 2015 Program is now available. Please visit the Cal Pro Net Training Opportunities Web page.
Mandatory training topics include, but are not limited to:
- Purpose of the program
- Site types and determining eligibility
- Vended meal contracts
- Menu records for the self-preparation sponsor
- How reimbursement works
- Administrative reviews
- Nondiscrimination compliance
Technical Assistance Workshops For Sponsors
*Important: Attendance at the Technical Assistance Workshops is not mandatory. All sponsors must complete the online training.
CDE staff will be conducting four technical assistance workshops to review and detail the most frequently asked SFSP sponsor questions. All returning sponsors who would like to take advantage of this interactive training are welcome to join us. All sponsors who have experienced problematic program issues, or sponsors with new staff in a key administrative position (i.e., Executive Director, Administrator, or Authorized Representative), are encouraged to register and attend.

- Meal counts
- Site Monitoring
- CNIPS entry
- Record keeping

You will receive a confirmation e-mail, which will provide you with all the necessary information pertaining to the session you have selected.
Technical Assistance (SFSP Sponsors) Registration Information
CDE staff will be conducting four summer meal outreach workshops to promote the growth of summer meal programs. The outreach workshops will include presentations and interactive sessions delivered by SFSP staff, successful “champion” summer sponsors, and other child nutrition advocates. The purpose of these promotional meetings is to increase awareness of summer meal programs, recruit new summer meal program sponsors, and answer any questions or concerns potential sponsors or sites may have before joining the program.
