This Information Alert provides a notification that Townsends, Inc., and RCG Food of Texas, Inc., are in violation of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Child Nutrition (CN) Labeling Program.
The following product, produced by Townsends, Inc., is barred from using a CN label because it was not approved for production by the FNS.

Please note that these products were produced without an approved CN label and, consequently, cannot be counted as a reimbursable meal for use in Child Nutrition meal programs utilizing the USDA Traditional or Enhanced Food Based Menu Planning Option. If you are using any of these products as part of the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs and you are utilizing either the USDA Traditional or Enhanced Food Based Menu Planning Option, please discontinue using these products immediately. If you are utilizing the USDA Nutrient Standard Menu Planning Option or SHAPE Nutrient Standard Menu Planning Option, you can continue using these products. If Townsends, Inc., or RCG Food of Texas, Inc., wish to produce any product as a CN labeled product, they must submit a new label application with a new CN identification number for final approval by FNS and, if applicable, contact Agricultural Marketing Service for inspection for each product they wish to produce.
