Federal law requires all National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) sponsors to complete an annual training on administrative procedures. As previously announced in e-mails sent on April 2, 2013, and April 16, 2013, this year’s mandatory training is now available.
The updated training includes nine modules on key topics such as NSLP and SBP eligibility, verification, menu planning with the New Meal Pattern requirements, food safety, meal counting, civil rights, and school wellness policies, as well as quizzes and an evaluation on the topics.
The training is currently available on the San Jose State University California Professional Nutrition Education and Training (Cal-Pro-NET) Center Annual Mandatory Training Web page at http://www.nufs.sjsu.edu/calpronet/AMT1_12_13_instruct.htm. Completing the training requires three steps:
Step One: Review the course overview, instructions, and course requirements
Step Two: Read the training modules
Step Three: Complete the online quizzes and course evaluation
Please do not forget to select the save button after completing each question. At the end of each quiz module and the course survey (evaluation) you will select the go to submit quiz button. You will be directed to a quiz confirmation page and from there you will select the submit quiz button. If you do not submit the information, we will not have a record that you have completed the training. After receiving confirmation that you have completed the training, you will receive an electronic Certificate of Completion.
Please be advised that you must complete the training by Thursday, May 31, 2013. We will closely monitor completion of this training. Failure to complete the training by the deadline may result in withholding of your agency’s meal reimbursement payment.
