March 12, 2008
Dear County and District Superintendents, Charter School Administrators, and Middle and High School Principals and Counselors:
In keeping with its mission to recruit, retain, and promote more women to the Fire Service, the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (CFFJAC) Commission to Recruit Women for the Fire Service once again encourages interested middle and high school female students to attend a weekend Fire Fighter Recruitment Fair in April. Two fairs will be held at the following dates, times, and locations:
| Location | Date |
|---|---|
Southern California |
Saturday, April 12, 2008 10 a.m. to 4 p.m |
| Northern California CPAT Testing Center 6723 Sierra Court, Suite G Dublin, CA 94568 |
Saturday, April 19, 2008 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. |
In addition to fire department recruitment booths, there will be on-going activities throughout the day, such as Candidate of Physical Ability Test demonstrations, “A Day in the Life of a Fire Fighter” presentations, apparatus displays, and much more. These fair activities are designed to welcome and encourage more students to enter this rewarding profession.
Please relay this information in your daily bulletin so that those female students in your school that have an aptitude for this dynamic career may attend a fair. Organized school programs are also welcome to participate. To obtain posters for display and for more information on the fairs, please visit the CFFJAC What’s New Web page at http://www.cffjac.org/jac/whats_new/2008_firefighter_recruitment_fairs/index.cfm [Note, the preceding Web address is no longer valid.] (Outside Source).
