Dear Members of the California Congressional Delegation:
Reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act
Thank you for all your work on behalf of the students and schools in California.
Over the last nine months, we have engaged in discussions with California’s education community, members of the public, and state policymakers about the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). I write now to share with you my priorities and offer to continue to assist you and provide input throughout the reauthorization of this critical legislation.
The enclosed document provides my specific recommendations for the reauthorization. These proposed changes identify issues and propose solutions and amendments to existing statute. I look forward to engaging in conversation with you on these issues over the coming months.
