Staff Evaluation Reporting System Survey Letter
Dear County and District Superintendents and Direct-Funded Charter School Administrators:
NOTIFICATION OF REQUIRED REPORTING: STAFF EVALUATION REPORTING SYSTEM SURVEY
The California Department of Education (CDE) will begin collecting data for the Staff Evaluation Reporting System (SERS) Survey. During the week of July 22, 2013, an e-mail notice with passwords and other information will be sent to you from the Title II Leadership Office; the notice will also be sent to staff that completed the survey last year.
Using SERS, each local educational agency (LEA) will submit the following data for the 2012–13 school year:
- Information regarding the system used to evaluate the performance of teachers and principals
- The overall performance evaluation rating (specifically: satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or not evaluated) for all teachers at each school
- The overall performance evaluation rating (specifically: satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or not evaluated) for all principals district-wide
The data collected will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Education’s Education Data Exchange Network in February 2014 to fulfill an annual reporting requirement authorized by an Annual Mandatory Collection of Elementary and Secondary Education Data through EDFacts Office of Management and Budget (OMB 1875-0240). To maintain confidentiality, the data for LEAs with fewer than 10 principals or teachers will not display.
