Schools Chief Jack O'Connell Congratulates
Mark Yudof on Appointment as UC President

SACRAMENTO – State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell issued the following statement regarding the appointment of Mark Yudof as president of the University of California by the UC Board of Regents:

"Mark Yudof has a stellar reputation and brings a wealth of expertise to the job of overseeing the University of California system. I am very pleased with his appointment and I look forward to working with him on a host of issues. I am particularly eager to have him join the partnership between the University of California and my office that is aimed at closing the achievement gap in California. Mark's passion for education and his leadership skills will enhance our efforts in this important work."
