New Resources

New CCSS Professional Learning Modules Available from the CDE

The California Department of Education (CDE) is pleased to announce that the Assessment Literacy External link opens in new window or tab. and the Content Literacy in History/Social Studies K–5 External link opens in new window or tab. professional learning modules (PLMs) are now available online on the Brokers of Expertise California Common Core State Standards (CCSS) PLM Web page External link opens in new window or tab.. The modules are part of the CCSS for California Educators series. The Assessment Literacy module was developed in collaboration with the San Joaquin County Office of Education, while the Content Literacy in History/Social Studies K–5 module was developed in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Office of Education. The modules are available in two formats: online independent use and on-site blended group facilitation.

An Overview of the CCSS for 6th–12th Grade ELA and Content Area Teachers

Sacramento County Office of Education staff Christine Anderson and Becky Sullivan will present this overview webinar for the Secondary Literacy Partnership's series on the CCSS. Topics will include informational text, drawing evidence from sources, and using complex text.
