Recorded Presentations Archive Now Available for Common Core and Beyond: A Practicum on Literacy in the Content Areas, Mathematics, Instructional Strategies, and Assessments
This series—brought to you by the California Teachers Association (CTA), the California Department of Education (CDE), the Comprehensive Center at WestEd, and the Association of California School Administrators—was designed to deepen educator understanding of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Smarter Balanced assessments. Sponsored through a grant provided by the National Education Association, these one-day seminars offered workshops; many provided by classroom practitioners; in the areas of curriculum, technology, literacy across the content areas, and assessment. The live seminars took place from January to May 2014 and CTA has made available the presentation recordings and resources on the CTA Archives Web Page .

Orientation to the Digital Library and the User Provisioning (registration) Process Webinar is now available. This webinar (Adobe Flash Player 13.0) provides basic information about the contents of the Digital Library and details on how to register individuals in LEAs to allow them access to the Digital Library.
The Smarter Balanced Digital Library preview starts June 3. Smarter Balanced provided the above link to an archived webinar for local educational agencies (LEAs) regarding the Digital Library preview. The webinar provides following:
- An orientation to the Digital Library with a demonstration of the current functionality and screen shots showing additional features
- A walk-through of the user provisioning (registration) process
A listing of Digital Library Preview preparation activities is below:
May 23, 2014: Via an e-mail to CAASPP Coordinators, the CDE sends a link to the archived webinar and sends the User Provisioning Manual with the template to LEAs as an attachment
May 23 to September 30, 2014: LEAs prepare templates for user information upload
May 23 to September 30, 2014: LEAs upload template
June 3, 2014: Digital Library preview starts
September 30, 2014: Digital Library preview ends (in preparation for the beginning of the operational version on October 1, 2014)
Please note: On October 1, 2014, the Digital Library becomes fully operational and available to all users who have been registered by their LEAs through the User Provisioning Process.
The goal of the preview is that LEAs will incorporate these Digital Library orientation materials into summer in-service and back-to-school activities. The initial set of resources educators will be able to preview in the Digital Library is a result of the work of more than 1,000 members of the State Network of Educators and the State Leadership Teams in each member state.
