EduCore External link opens in new window or tab. , a new Web site developed by ASCD, provides access to evidence-based tools and resources to help middle and high school educators implement the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Registered users can save their searches, organize tools, and annotate resources.

Revised Draft Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards Available for Review

The revised draft Career Technical Education (CTE) Model Curriculum Standards are available for public review. To download, review, and provide input on the standards, please visit the CTE Standards Web page. Public hearings will be conducted September 17, 2012, in Los Angeles, and September 19, 2012, in Sacramento, with all public input concluding on September 19, 2012.

Mathematics Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Committee Meets This Week

The revision of the curriculum framework for mathematics is underway. The Mathematics Curriculum Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee (MCFCC), appointed by the State Board of Education to revise the framework, will meet for the first time on September 6–7, 2012, at the California Department of Education in Sacramento. Secondary Literacy Partnership Online Modules Available Soon

The Secondary Literacy Partnership is providing an extraordinary opportunity for secondary teachers and school teams to take advantage of a series of free online modules for transitioning to the California CCSS in English Language Arts and Literacy in History/ Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects. These modules will provide strategies that educators can apply immediately in their classrooms and will also provide a road map for Professional Learning Communities to begin the transition to CCSS.
