SSPI Proposes Future Statewide Assessment System
State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI) Tom Torlakson provided recommendations to the Governor and Legislature yesterday for a new statewide testing system. Opportunities to Participate
Second Public Draft of NGSS Now Available for Public Review
The second and final public draft of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) is now available. Public review and comment on the draft standards will be collected for the next three weeks, through January 29, 2013. The draft standards and feedback survey are available on the Achieve NGSS Web Site .
SBE CCSS Agenda Items
The State Board of Education (SBE) will address six items on CCSS implementation during its January 16, 2013 meeting, including the following topics:
- Update on the CCSS Systems Implementation Activities of the CDE and SBE
- Adoption of Modifications to the CCSS for Mathematics with California Additions
- 2014 Mathematics Primary Adoption of Instructional Materials
- Supplemental Instructional Materials Review, Mathematics Category 2
- Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards 2013
- Assessment System Transition: Recommendations and Transition Plan
