Job Description
The Child Nutrition Supervisor II (CNS II) is the highest level in the Child Nutrition series and educates, evaluates, supports, and assists the regional Child Nutrition Supervisor Is (CNS I) and Field Services Unit (FSU). The CNS II works closely with the CNS Is to track, pace, trend, and report timely program compliance monitoring review completion to FSU and upper management to ensure all approximately 3000 Child Nutrition Program agency program compliance reviews and activities adhere to stringent federal and state mandated requirements and timelines. The CNS II proves leadership to the Unit and Division in order to improve processes and procedures utilized by the Field Services Unit to ensure that staff uniformly holds all sponsors accountable to the Child Nutrition Programs administered by the California Department of Education. CNS II represents the department at meetings and conferences, interpret regulations, policies, procedures, and standards to staff and sponsors to ensure program integrity. The CNS II also provides advice, direction, and assistance to the CNS Is, staff and sponsors on the most difficult and complex child nutrition program components.Examination Bulletin

Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire
The California civil service selection system is merit-based, and eligibility for appointment is established through a formal examination process. The Child Nutrition Supervisor II examination consists of a Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire (QAQ) that will be used to evaluate your experience, education, and training. The QAQ is the entire examination and will account for 100% of your score. Candidates will receive notification of their score by mail.
