Executive Summary

This report is required by Item 6110-001-0001 of Section 2 of the Budget Act of 2010. It updates the Legislature on the expenditures of funds appropriated in this item for legal representation from the Office of the Attorney General in litigation related to the California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE).

During Fiscal Year (FY) 2010–11 there were two cases concerning the CAHSEE. In each of these cases, the office of the Attorney General represented state defendants. For FY 2010–11, the California Department of Education (CDE) paid $977.50 for legal services related to the CAHSEE.
