Curriculum

Even Start Programs are required to provide high-quality, intensive instructional programs in adult literacy, early childhood education (birth to three years), early childhood education/school readiness (three to five years), parenting education, and parent and child interactive literacy activities. Even Start Programs are required to use research-based curriculum for all components. The use of scientifically-based reading research to promote family literacy is a centerpiece of the Even Start Program’s conceptual framework.
