Alignment of the Preschool Learning Foundations

The Alignment of the California Preschool Learning Foundations with Key Early Education Resources (PDF; 3MB; Posted 24-Sep-2013) provides an in-depth analysis of how the nine domains of the preschool foundations closely align with the California Infant/Toddler Learning and Development Foundations, the California Content Standards, the Common Core State Standards, and the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework External link opens in new window or tab. (PDF; 2MB).

Additionally, this (online-only) publication displays the alignment of the four domains of infant-toddler learning and development foundations to the nine domains of preschool foundations, clearly defining a full continuum of learning beginning at birth, and highlighting the path of school readiness, long-term school success, and child wellness.

The document features tables that graphically illustrate how domains and strands of the infant-toddler foundations align to the preschool foundations, and then show how the preschool foundations directly align to the Kindergarten standards in both common core state standards as well as the California content standards.
