An important component of the CAEL QIS development process is holding Public Hearings to coordinate input on the design and implementation of California’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). These comments, in addition to the extensive work by the CAEL QIS Subcommittees, Expert Consultants, and CDE/CDD Staff, will inform and support the work of the CAEL QIS Advisory Committee Members. The draft of the CAEL QIS Final Report will be available for review in the third week of October, prior to review by the Advisory Committee at their scheduled meetings in November and December. By December 31, 2010, the Advisory Committee is statutorily required to finalize its recommendations for the creation of the early learning quality improvement system.
Note: There will be time allotted for public testimony for agenda items 1-4. If needed, there will be a three-minute time limit per person. Please RSVP so we can plan for adequate seating and time for input. If there are no presenters after 5:30 p.m., the public hearing may adjourn after 6:00 p.m. Also, please provide your comments in writing. Written comments will be accepted until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. We also ask you to print the public hearing documents from the CAEL QIS Web site as a limited number of copies will be available.
