EESD Stakeholder Questionnaire Summary

A summary of the results of an Early Education and Support Division (EESD) survey conducted in October 2013 to obtain perspectives from the early learning and educational support field regarding policy priorities and preferences.

Upon the suggestion of the Superintendent’s Early Learning and Educational Support Stakeholder Group, the Early Education and Support Division (EESD) created a questionnaire in order to obtain perspectives from the early learning and educational support field regarding policy priorities and preferences for the Division’s future work. The questionnaire was distributed via the EESD’s e-mail distribution lists and was open from October 9, 2013, to November 8, 2013. Over 1,300 individuals completed the questionnaire.

The following includes a summary of the results from the questionnaire. These results reflect the perspectives of the field, and not the policy priorities and preferences of the California Department of Education (CDE). Results of the questionnaire will be used by CDE and EESD administrators to inform future Department work. If you have any questions about the questionnaire, send a message to cddsurvey@cde.ca.gov.

Note: Throughout this summary, many of the percentages for a single question do not add up to 100%. This was intentional and due to the survey design. Most questions permitted respondents to select their two top policy priorities.
