Enactment of Senate Bill 1290
On September 26, 2012, the Governor signed Senate Bill (SB) 1290 (Chapter 576, Statutes of 2012) which affects charter schools and charter school authorizers. SB 1290
amends Sections 47605, 47605.6, and 47067 of the California Education Code. In part, this law requires that charter school authorizers consider increases in pupil academic achievement for all subgroups served by the charter school as the most important factor in determining whether to renew or revoke a charter school.
