Election of Direct Funding Option

A charter school may elect to receive its funding directly, in lieu of having it disbursed to the local educational agency that granted its charter. On or before June 1 of each year, a charter school electing funding in this manner shall so notify the county superintendent of schools of the county in which the local educational agency that granted the charter is located or, in the case of charters for which the State Board of Education has designated an oversight agency pursuant to Education Code Section 47605 (k)(1) External link opens in new window or tab. , the county superintendent of schools of the county in which the designated oversight agency is located.

An election to receive funding directly shall apply to all funding that the charter school is eligible to receive, including, but not limited to, the charter general-purpose entitlements and the categorical block grant computed pursuant to Education Code sections 47633 and 47634 External link opens in new window or tab. , other state and federal categorical aid, and lottery funds.
