DATA USED TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF ECONOMIC IMPACT AID (EIA) ELIGIBLE PUPILS FOR BLOCK-GRANT FUNDED CHARTER SCHOOLS
The following table summarizes the differences in the data sets used in the calculation of a charter school’s EIA eligible pupils under the old and new formulas for both continuing and new block-grant funded charter schools:

For 2006-07, current year counts of pupils ages 5 through 17, as of October 2006, whose annual family income is at or below the federal poverty level as reported in the principal apportionment revenue software. Beginning in 2007-08, prior year counts will be used.
- English learners – Prior year counts of EL pupils as reported on the spring R30–LC Language Census.
- Enrollment – Prior year enrollment as reported through the California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS).
