Deadlines for submitting new charter school numbering applications for consideration at SBE meetings.

Due Dates for SBE Numbering Applications

Complete State Board of Education (SBE) numbering request packages must be mailed to the following address:

Applicants are encouraged to submit packages by certified return-receipt mail, or through a commercial delivery service that offers package tracking. Emailed numbering requests will not be accepted.

Please submit numbering request packages by the due dates below. Numbering request packages must include one original and one cd copy of your complete, locally approved, charter petition and confirmation of local board approval. The following chart lists the dates of SBE meetings through 2009, and the dates that the charter petitions are due in the Charter Schools Office prior to the subsequent SBE meeting. Please note that in 2009 the SBE will meet in alternate months.

*In order to receive a charter number before September 2009 (and to be eligible for an advance apportionment for the 2009-2010 fiscal year), a new charter school must have local board approval and request a number from the SBE by May 21, 2009.
