Moving Forward: English Language Development Standards, Assessments, and the Common Core
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended, Title III Part A, requires state educational agencies to provide technical assistance to eligible entities that are receiving subgrants. This institute contributes to satisfying this requirement by assisting local educational agencies in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that will help English learners and immigrant students attain English proficiency and meet state academic standards.
