The California Department of Education (CDE) collects the number of immigrant students to determine the amount of funding. For the 2009– 10 fiscal year, eligible school districts, county offices of education and direct funded charter schools will receive 95 dollars for each eligible immigrant student.
Information from the CDE about the number of immigrant students that are submitted by school districts, county offices of education and direct funded charter schools will be reported using the SNOR Online Reporting during 2009– 10. Information was to be reported on the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement System (CALPADS) but system problems have delayed use of the CALPADS which is currently being worked on to correct.
Private schools do not receive funding. These schools may receive programs and services from the local educational agency (LEA) that serves the geographic area in which the private school is found. Private schools will continue to submit the number of immigrant students using the SNOR online application.
