Dear Select Superintendents and Charter School Administrators:
California Department of Education (CDE) records document that your local educational agency (LEA) is the lead of a Title III funded consortium. Based upon the 2008-09 Title III accountability reports, your consortium did not meet annual measurable achievement objectives (AMAO) for two consecutive years and is subject to improvement activities under Title III. The lead LEA of the consortium is responsible for submitting the Year 2 Improvement Plan Addendum to the CDE in order to meet Title III consortia accountability requirements. The lead and members of the consortium have agreed to this in your memorandum of understanding.The consortium lead should convene the members to address the issues that are outlined in this letter. A single plan will be due from each consortium to address English learner issues for all districts in the consortium. Special attention should be given to addressing the needs of students whose scores contributed to the consortium’s failure to meet AMAO targets.
Your consortium is subject to the following Title III Year 2 requirements:
