The WorkAbility I program is funded and administered in California by the California Department of Education. The Director of the Special Education Division in the Department provides program and fiscal leadership to the State Advisory Committees consisting of the State Advisory and State Advisory Alternative Chairs. The State Advisory Committees oversee program compliance at the five regional programs and the Business/Education/Labor, Family Transition Network, Governmental Relations, Human Support Services, Mentoring, Wage, Labor and Safety, and State Regional Training Committees. These sub-committees and the Focused Monitoring Technical Assistance Regional Managers and Special Education consultants in the Special Education Division provide guidance for the WorkAbility I Site Directors who in turn provide guidance to the local program organizations.
