- provide information, resources, training, and support to parents, students, educators and agency staff regarding academic achievement, employment, transition, and disability awareness for with young people with special needs
- publish a bi-annual newsletter that will provide pertinent information on a wide range of topics

- research, advise, disseminate information and support the provision of transition services for individuals with disabilities through the legislative process and policy formation at the federal, state and local levels
- review, analyze and act upon legislative policy, initiatives and issues that may impact WAI and transition services
- monitor specific pieces of legislation.To work collaboratively with the WorkAbility I Advisory Committee and state staff to communicate effectively with WAI regions
- form and maintain strategic alliances that support programs and resources for WorkAbility I students which include, but are not limited to, CAWEE, California WorkAbility Alliance, CAROCP, Community Colleges, Department of Rehabilitation, EDD/One Stop, WIA, Regional Centers and Tech Prep
- seek and develop linkages within CDE as appropriate
- establish and exercise effective communication with the field to support legislative awareness, legislative responsiveness and develop field input and linkages.
