Prior to 2010–11, ASAM schools were required to collect and report data to the California Department of Education (CDE) on three of fifteen ASAM performance indicators. The indicator performance standards were adopted by the State Board of Education (SBE) in 2004. Certain restrictions and conditions applied to each indicator.
