Glossary for 2005–06 APR

Glossary of terms for the 2005–06 Accountability Progress Reporting (APR) system.

The California Department of Education (CDE) now reports both state and federal accountability results under the general heading of the Accountability Progress Reporting (APR) system. The APR includes Academic Performance Index (API) reports, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports, and Program Improvement (PI) reports.

2005–06 Accountability Progress Reporting (APR)
  • 2005 API Base Report
  • 2006 API Growth Report
  • 2006 AYP Report
  • 2006–07 PI Report

API reports provide information about whether schools meet state requirements under the Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA) of 1999. Similarly, AYP and PI reports provide information about whether schools and local educational agencies (LEAs) meet federal requirements under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. (An LEA is a school district or county office of education.)

Organization of the Glossary

The glossary is divided into sections that correspond to each report in the 2005–06 Accountability Progress Reporting system. Terms in each report glossary are listed in the order in which they appear on the report.
