Glossary for 2008–09 APR

Glossary of terms for the 2008–09 Accountability Progress Reporting (APR) system.

The California Department of Education (CDE) reports both state and federal accountability results under the general heading of the Accountability Progress Reporting (APR) system. The APR includes Academic Performance Index (API) reports, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports, and Program Improvement (PI) reports.

2008–09 Accountability Progress Reporting
  • 2008 Base API Report
  • 2009 Growth API Report
  • 2009 AYP Report
  • 2009–10 PI Report

API reports provide information about whether schools meet state requirements under the Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA) of 1999. Similarly, AYP and PI reports provide information about whether schools and local educational agencies (LEAs) meet federal requirements under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. (An LEA is a school district or county office of education.)

Organization of the Glossary

The glossary is divided into sections that correspond to each report in the 2008–09 APR system. The terms in each section are listed in the order in which they appear on the report.
