Timeline of accountability results activities relating to Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for 2006.

August 4

Application deadline for the exception to the 1.0 percent cap on proficient or above scores based on the 2006 California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA).

August 11

The Academic Accountability Unit (AAU) at the California Department of Education (CDE) must receive requests regarding significant population changes in order to modify API Growth reporting for the August 31, 2006, release.

August 18

A letter will be mailed to local educational agencies (LEAs) regarding the August 31, 2006 release of 2005–06 Accountability Progress Reporting (APR) information. Details about report format and appeals process will be included.

August 18 The 2006 Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) appeals information will be posted on the CDE Web site.

August 24

The following informational documents will be posted on the CDE Web site:

August 28

The following reports with accompanying downloadable data files will be pre-released for LEAs on the CDE Web site:

  • 2006 AYP Reports
  • 2006–07 Program Improvement (PI) Reports

August 31

The following reports with accompanying downloadable data files will be released to the public on the CDE Web site:

  • 2006 API Growth Reports
  • 2006 AYP Reports
  • 2006–07 PI Reports

September

Data Review Report information will be sent to LEAs.

September Spanish version of the Parent Guide to School Accountability Progress Reporting will be posted on the CDE Web site.

September 15

Deadline to submit appeals of 2006 AYP results to the CDE.
