Summary of changes in the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) data definitions from 2005-06 to 2006-07.

  • All references to specific years have been modified to reflect the reporting of newer data.

Guidelines and Data Sources

  • Text indicates that local educational agencies (LEAs) should verify that contact information is for the current school year.
School Facility Conditions and Improvements

Definitions

  • Text indicates that the State of California Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) developed a new Facility Inspection Tool (FIT) to determine the safety, cleanliness, and adequacy of school facilities, replacing the former Interim Evaluation Instrument (IEI). The FIT will evaluate the same conditions as the former IEI, but will do so with ratings of "good," "fair," or "poor." The FIT will also provide an overall summary of the conditions at each school on a scale of "exemplary," "good," "fair," or poor."
  • A note has been added to indicate that an LEA/school may use a locally developed school facility inspection and evaluation instrument, so long as it meets the same criteria as the instrument developed by the OPSC.
School Facility Good Repair Status

Definitions

California Standards Test Results for All Students -— Three-Year Comparison

Guidelines and Data Sources

  • A note has been added to indicate that student proficiency levels may differ between the California Standards Test (CST) and the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) based on inclusion and exclusion requirements. Additionally, the note indicates that the publication of test results is prohibited when the number of students tested is 10 or less, in order to prevent the inadvertent publication of these test results.
