LEA Improvement Status
LEA Requirements
PI Year 1
- PI Year 1, Newly Identified (DOC)
An LEA that failed to meet all Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) targets for two consecutive years becomes newly identified for PI. - Develop an LEA Plan Addendum.
- Submit LEA Plan Addendum by January 23, 2012.
- PI Year 1, Maintains PI Status (DOC)
An LEA that advanced to PI Year 1 in fall 2010 or spring 2011 and successfully met all AYP targets in 2011-12 maintains its PI Year 1 status. - Implement LEA Plan Addendum; no submission required.
PI Year 2
- PI Year 2, Newly Advancing (DOC)
An LEA that was identified as PI Year 1 in fall 2010 or spring 2011 and failed to meet all AYP targets in 2011-12 advances to PI Year 2 status. - Implement LEA Plan Addendum; no submission required.
- PI Year 2, Maintains PI Status (DOC)
An LEA that advanced to PI Year 2 in fall 2010 or spring 2011 and successfully met all AYP targets in 2011-12 maintains its PI Year 2 status. - Implement LEA Plan Addendum; no submission required.
PI Year 3
- PI Year 3, Newly Advancing (DOC)
An LEA that advanced to PI Year 3 in fall 2011 and failed to meet all AYP targets in 2010-11 advaces to PI Year 3 status. - Develop an LEA Plan.
- Submit LEA Plan by March 10, 2012.
- PI Year 3+, Maintains PI Status (DOC)
An LEA that advanced to PI Year 3 in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and spring 2011 maintains its PI Year 3 status until it makes AYP for two consecutive years. For each year that it remains in PI Year 3 status, it is identified as “PI Year 3+.” - Implement LEA Plan.
- Submit End-of-Year Evidence of Progress Report by October 15, 2012 (Cohorts 1-4).
