Local educational agency (LEA) Plans and Plan Addenda for 44 of the 97 Program Improvement LEAs in Corrective Action (required to work with a District Assistance and Intervention Team) will be reviewed by a trained group of reviewers on October 3 and October 7, 2008, at the California Department of Education (CDE).
If you wish to observe the review, please submit your name by September 16, 2008, to Peggy Carter at pcarter@cde.ca.gov. Include your name, organization, e-mail address, and phone number. Participation is subject to available space. There is no state budget to support the costs of time or travel so observers will need to make their own arrangements.
Following the October review of LEA Plans, the CDE will contact any LEAs which need to revise their plans. The CDE will report to the State Board of Education (SBE) at its November 2008 meeting on the review of plans. CDE will also report on the local posting of plans and identify hyper-links where plans can be publicly accessed from the CDE Web site.
