WestEd, in collaboration with the California Department of Education, compiled a research database of schools participating in California's II/USP and CSR programs that are demonstrating success in improving student achievement. From this database, 12 Cohort 2 II/USP schools were selected to present in the breakout sessions at the On The Right Track II Symposium, April 20-21, 2004.

Data were compiled from various sources, including the online resources EdData and Data Quest, a school-level survey administered to selected schools in fall 2003, School Level End of Year Reports (FY 2002-2003), and follow-up telephone conversations with school principals. 1
