Special Education Data Reporting Requirements − Waivers

The 2009−10 CAHSEE Waiver Data Collection information was mailed to local educational agencies (LEAs) on November 12, 2010. This data is collected each year pursuant to California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 1207. Completed waiver data collection forms must be submitted via e-mail to cahseedatacollections@cde.ca.gov no later than December 31, 2010.

Any LEA that did not receive a request for a CAHSEE waiver in the 2009−10 school year must send an e-mail response to cahseedatacollections@cde.ca.gov with the following information: the name of the LEA, the County-District-School (CDS) code, and a statement that there were no requests for a CAHSEE waiver in the 2009−10 school year.

Note: the California Department of Education (CDE) is collecting waiver data for the 2009−10 school year, not exemption data.

For questions about the CAHSEE waiver data process, please contact Laura Watson, Education Research and Evaluation Consultant, CAHSEE/Physical Fitness Testing (PFT) Office, by phone at 916-323-8351 or by e-mail at cahsee@cde.ca.gov.

Test Administration Training Webcast

ETS will provide a live Webcast training for CAHSEE Coordinators on Tuesday, December 7, 2011, from 9 a.m. to noon. LEAs that authorize a charter school that tests independently should ensure that the charter school also participates in this Webcast. CDE Charter School Division staff, ETS staff, and CDE CAHSEE staff will be available during the Webcast to answer viewer questions. The Webcast will include information and updates on the following topics:

The Webcast and registration instructions for the Webcast can be accessed on the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) Web page External link opens in new window or tab. . The Webcast will be archived on the SDCOE’s Web page under “Archived Webcasts” by December 28, 2010. Questions about the Webcast should be directed to the ETS CAHSEE Support line by phone at 800-241-5687.

2009−10 Apportionment Information Reports

The CAHSEE Apportionment Information Report for the 2009−10 school year was mailed to LEA administrators in November. To receive these apportionments, the superintendent or charter school administrator must certify the accuracy of the report by signing, dating, and returning the report to the CDE Assessment and Accountability Division. The certified reports must be postmarked by December 31, 2010. Certified reports received after this date must be accompanied by a waiver request pursuant to California Education Code (EC) Section 33050. The CDE cannot release apportionment payments for late reports without a California State Board of Education-approved waiver.

Questions about CAHSEE apportionments should be directed to Gayle Jamerson, Analyst, CAHSEE/PFT Office, by phone at 916-445-9449 or by e-mail at gjamerso@cde.ca.gov.
