Organization Name:
Orange Unified School District
Remediation Program Title:
Focusing on Results
Subject Matter:
English-Language Arts and Math
Abstract:
The objective of the program is to focus the attention of school site administrators, counselors, and teachers involved with CAHSEE remediation on the data and resources available to them. Group-level cluster (or strands, such as Number Sense) analyses are used to select targets for improvement. Test blueprints are used to identify specific content standards to be taught. Released test questions are used to familiarize students with ways their knowledge will be assessed. Student-level cluster analyses can be used to differentiate instruction within the classroom setting.
Target Audience:
School site administrators, counselors, and teachers
Typical Instructional Setting:
Professional development training
Diagnostic Assessment Used:
CAHSEE test results are used diagnostically to identify areas of need. Additional pre- and post-assessments should be incorporated into the program, provided that they address CAHSEE standards only.
