2013-14 Student Testing Dates

The 2013-14 student testing dates for all the assessment programs are outlined below. To receive important assessment information, please sign up on the All Assessments E-mail List Web page.

California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE)

Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program

The STAR testing schedule for the 2013 administration of the California Standards Tests (CSTs), the California Modified Assessment (CMA), the California Alternate Performance Assessment (CAPA), and the Standards-based Tests in Spanish (STS) is:

• A 25-day window for each school, program, and track.
• The window to be comprised of the 12 days before and 12 days after the day on which 85 percent of the instructional year is completed.
• All regular and makeup testing must be completed within the 25-day window.

Dates for the 2013 administration of the grades four and seven writing components of the English-language arts tests for the CSTs and the CMA are:

• Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with a makeup day of Wednesday, March 6, for all schools, programs, and tracks in session on these dates.
• Tuesday, May 7, 2013, with a makeup day of Wednesday, May 8, for schools, programs, and tracks not in session during the March administration.

Dates for the 2014 administration of the grades four and seven writing components of the English-language arts tests for the CSTs and the CMA are:

• March administration: Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with a makeup day of Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
• May administration for schools and programs not in session the beginning of March: Tuesday, May 6, 2014, with a makeup day of Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

California English Language Development Test (CELDT)

The annual testing window of the CELDT is July 1-October 31. Initial identification assessments are ongoing throughout the school year.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The designated testing window for administration of the Physical Fitness Test is February, March, April, or May.
