Annual Assessment
- The CELDT annual window, for the annual assessment of English learners, closed on October 31, 2004.
- The testing contractor, CTB/McGraw-Hill, reports that the annual assessments have been scored and results have been sent to the districts within the required six to eight weeks after receipt of the completed tests by the testing contractor.
- If your school district has not received individual student results, please contact CTB at 800-994-8594.
- School districts are to notify parents of individual CELDT results within 30 calendars days of receipt from the test contractor.
Test Results Interpretation Guide
This brief guide, in English and in ten other languages, is designed to provide general information to parents about the CELDT, how the results are reported, and what these results mean.
More information can be found at the California Department of Education Web site, http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/el/.
Summary Data
- Public release of CELDT 2004-05 annual assessment summary data for school, school district, county, and state will be available on the CELDT Web site, http://celdt.cde.ca.gov/, in February 2005.
- Posting of the 2004-05 initial identification results is scheduled for November 2005.
Data Review Module (DRM)
- The second Data Review Module (DRM) for the CELDT will provide districts and independent charter schools the opportunity to complete and correct selected data fields from tests administered during the 2004 annual assessment window.
- The data review window is scheduled to begin on February 21, 2005, and to close on March 11, 2005.
- If your school district or charter school receives Title III funds, it is imperative that you use the DRM to provide or correct data essential to the calculation of the Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs), particularly, previous CELDT scores and U.S.A. enrollment.
- CTB/McGraw-Hill will distribute a table showing the number of missing or invalid data entries to CELDT district coordinators on February 11, 2005, via e-mail.
- CTB/McGraw-Hill will also provide CELDT district coordinators with detailed instructions for using the DRM.
- CDE would like to thank those who provided valuable input on the previous DRM; many of the new features are a direct result of that feedback.
- If you have any questions on the DRM, please contact CTB/McGraw-Hill at 800-994-8594.
CELDT District Coordinator List
In order to receive timely information, access to CELDT data and access to the DRM, it is essential that all school districts have current contact information on file with the testing contractor that includes a valid district e-mail address. Personal e-mail addresses are not accepted for security reasons. If a CELDT district coordinator does not have a district e-mail address, CDE recommends that a mailbox designated as CELDT be established in the school district to allow the CELDT district coordinator and any additional designees access to CELDT information.
