Near the top center is the title Welcome followed by the following paragraph: MyNAEP is a restricted-use website that contains information on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), widely known as the "Nation's Report Card." This website provides NAEP-related information to states, districts, and schools and is designed and maintained by Westat. MyNAEP serves as a portal to MySchool, a website providing NAEP assessment information to school and district personnel.

Below the Welcome statement two form field boxes. One titled Login and one titled Registration. The Login box requests a Username and a Password followed by a button labeled Login. The Registration box states: First time visiting the MySchool site? Please register. A MySchool Registration ID is then requested followed by a button labeled Continue.

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Tip Sheet
How to Register for MySchool and Provide Required School Information.

Purpose: These instructions will show you how to register and provide the required school information on the NAEP MySchool Web site. These tasks must be completed by September 28, 2012, and can be completed by either the NAEP School Coordinator or NAEP District Coordinator. Completion of these tasks should take only 15 minutes.

Step 1. Open your Internet browser and type: http://www.mynaep.com. External link opens in new window or tab. This will take you to the MyNAEP Welcome screen.

Step 2. On the right side of the screen, enter the school’s 8-digit (or district’s 7-digit) MySchool registration ID (included in the August letter from the NAEP State Coordinator). After entering the ID, select the Continue button.

At this point there is a screen shot of the Welcome slide with the Registration box highlighted with a red box.

Note: There is no limit to the number of people who can register for MySchool under the same Registration ID. However, each person registering from your school or district must specify a unique e-mail address.

Step 3. Complete the MySchool registration form.

At this point there is a screen shot of the MySchool Registration screen with the following fields:

There is a text bubble coming from the District and School Name fields which states: Your district and school names will display here.

There is a text bubble coming from the name, telephone, and email fields, which states: Enter your name, phone number and email address. Confirm the email address.

There is text bubble coming from the password fields which states: Enter a password of your choice. Enter the password again to confirm. (Valid passwords must contain 8 to 14 characters and contain at least one upper case, one lower case, one special character (?*!~%@#$%^+=&) and one digit.

Note: Make sure that your school and/or district name displays at the top of the form. If it does not, compare the registration ID shown with the one in the letter you received to check it you entered it correctly, then select the Return to Login button to start over.

Fill out the registration form. Please read the guidelines for creating a password on the next page. Review the information you’ve typed in the form. Make sure you know what your password is, then select the Register button.

A red box highlights the Registration button: If you are responsible for registering more than one school, please use the “Register More Schools” option on the MySchool home page.

Complete the information requested under both tabs on the “Provide School Information” page of the NAEP MySchool Web site.
Provide School Information Page of the NAEP MySchool Web Site

Please use this page to ensure that NAEP has the most up-to-date information about your school. The left side of the School Contact tab shows the contact information NAEP has on file for your school. Please add any missing information or corrections on the right-hand side.

Use the Continue button at the bottom of the screen to display the School Characteristics tab where NAEP would like you to answer a few more important questions about your school. If your school is selected for more than one grade or age group, you will see one of these tabs for each grade/age.

Once you have provided information on all of the tabs, you will be able to save your information. Any information that you provide will be reviewed by your NAEP State Coordinator before it appears in other areas of MySchool.

At this point on the Web page are two tabs: one labeled School Contact Information and one labeled School Characteristics–Grade 12.

Because this is the current information we have on file for your school. Please make any necessary corrections or additions to your school information. It is important that you provide an actual street address (not a post office box) for express delivery of NAEP materials.

There are two columns: one for labeled Current with the current address displayed below and one labeled New with fields below for entering a new address.
