Non-compliant Letters
Education Code Section 60800 requires each school district or charter school with pupils in grades fifth, seventh, and ninth to administer the California Physical Fitness Test (PFT) to each student in those grades. The PFT designated for use by the California State Board of Education is the FITNESSGRAM ®.
The deadline for districts and charter schools to submit their 2006-07 physical fitness data files electronically to the PFT contractor, Educational Data Systems (EDS), was June 30, 2007. EDS mailed a total of 114 non-compliant letters to District Superintendents and Charter School Administrators on August 20, 2007. The letter requested that the non-compliant districts and charter schools submit electronically their 2006-07 physical fitness data files to EDS by September 17, 2007.
