Non-Compliant Letters for 2006 Administration

Education Code Section 60800 requires every school district or charter school in California with pupils in grades five, seven, and nine to administer the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) to each pupil in those grades. Results of those administrations are to be submitted annually to the state. The PFT designated for use by the State Board of Education is the Fitnessgram (Third Edition) ®.

The deadline for school districts and charter schools to submit their 2005–06 physical fitness data files electronically to Educational Data Systems (EDS) was June 30, 2006. EDS mailed a total of 109 non-compliant letters to the district superintendents on August 23, 2006 and to the charter school administrators on August 24, 2006. This letter requests that the 2005–06 physical fitness data files not yet submitted be sent electronically to EDS by September 15, 2006.
