FDP Collaboration Committee Application

The Food Distribution Program (FDP) is currently soliciting applications from school program operators to serve on the FDP Collaboration Committee.

The California Department of Education’s Nutrition Services Division (NSD) invites School Nutrition Program (SNP) Operators who are participating in the Food Distribution Program (FDP) to apply to become a member of the FDP Collaboration Committee. The intent of this committee is to provide input and recommendations regarding California’s implementation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foods Program and how the FDP can support SNP Operators in offering more freshly prepared, scratch and speed scratch menu options.

Applicant Experience and Committee Member Overview

SNP Operators, or their primary ordering staff, having at least three years’ experience with SNPs and who participate in the FDP are encouraged to apply. The NSD is seeking SNP representing different regions, various school district sizes, and program participation methods (i.e. State co-op, warehouse, advanced order, direct ship, or private co-op).

The FDP Collaboration Committee is comprised of approximately 12-15 members who serve a two-year term and regularly attend remote committee meetings via webinar. Meeting frequency varies based on discussion topics and is typically held on a quarterly basis.
