Capital Expenditure Approved List-Update

The California Department of Education (CDE) has updated the Capital Expenditure Approved List web page to include the following new items: ice machine, fire suppression hood, air fryer, commercial juicer, floor scrubber, generator, and point of sale system and licensing renewal.

School food authorities do not need to request CDE approval to use nonprofit school food service account funds (known as cafeteria funds) to purchase equipment listed on the Capital Expenditure Approved List. However, equipment must be purchased exclusively for the operation and improvement of School Nutrition Programs. The list can be found at Capital Expenditure Approved List - School Nutrition (CA Dept of Education).
