2022 KIT Apportionment Update

This web page is to provide you an update on the 2022 Kitchen Infrastructure and Training (KIT) Funds. As we have shared with you in previous Town Hall meetings, the Governor’s Proposed Budget for 2023 includes a $15 million set aside from the 2022 KIT funds to support the purchase of school kitchen commercial dishwashers.

The California Department of Education (CDE) will award $585,000,000 of the total $600,000,000 KIT funds; the award of the remaining $15 million will be determined following the completed budget process. The CDE will post the funding awards this month and notify local educational agencies of the posting via a listserv.
