We Are Here to Support You—2020 Virtual CAC!

Just as you are here for California’s students, the California Department of Education (CDE) is here for you. To make the 2020 California Assessment Conference (CAC) easily accessible to California educators, whose schools and districts are facing unprecedented budget cuts in the 2020–21 school year, the 2020 CAC will shift to a virtual platform.

The 2020 Virtual CAC, which will be held this October 6 and 7, will be offered as a combination of live and prerecorded sessions covering a variety of assessment-related topics. As a participant, you will have an opportunity to hear from other districts, connect with educators across the state, set your own pace and agenda, and have access to recordings of each of the sessions for weeks following the conference.

More information about the conference is available on the CAC website External link opens in new window or tab.. If you have questions, send an email to, and you will receive a response within two business days.

Thank you for being there for our students; your commitment, support, and care are appreciated and make a difference. We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

New Call for CAC Presenters

During this time of uncertainty for LEAs, we want to ensure that we are bringing 2020 Virtual CAC attendees the most up-to-date and relevant information. Although the window to submit shared practices has closed, the CDE is opening a special window for local educational agencies (LEAs) to submit shared practice sessions that tie assessments to distance learning.

We are looking for LEAs that want to share their best practices for distance learning and assessment. For submission criteria and a link to the submission form, please refer to the invitation to submit External link opens in new window or tab.. The window closes on June 30.
