2020–21 Spring Administration FAQs and Guidance
The California Department of Education has updated the COVID-19 Assessment FAQs web page with new frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers for the 2021 Spring Summative Assessment Administration! Also posted on the COVID-19 Assessment FAQs web page is the 2020–21 Spring Summative Assessment Administration Flexibility Guidelines. This flyer steps through the testing options for each summative assessment this spring. New FAQs will be added in the future, so be sure to check back!
Reminder: ELPAC Data Entry Requirement
Test examiners should enter Speaking scores for the Summative ELPAC into the Data Entry Interface (DEI) immediately after they administer the Speaking domain to students. Local educational agencies (LEAs) that will be administering the Summative ELPAC through July 30, 2021, must enter the Speaking scores into the DEI by the end of that day.
To assist them in this process, LEAs can refer to the following resources:
- The Completion Status Report in the Test Operations Management System, which provides information on which students’ scores need to be submitted into the DEI
- Instructions on entering scores into the DEI, which are included in the 2019–2020 ELPAC Data Entry Interface User Guide for Computer-Based Testing, located on the ELPAC website
CERS Sandbox Offline Next Week
The California Educator Reporting System (CERS) Sandbox—used for training LEA staff on the features and functions of CERS—will be offline for maintenance and enhancements from Monday, April 19, at 8 a.m. through Friday, April 23, at 8 p.m.
